Innovation, economy

Innovation and knowledge are essential factors of competitiveness and sustained economic growth. Their social role is the enhancement of the quality of life. The New Széchenyi Plan features science & innovation, as one of the take-off points of economy, among its 7 programs. The New Széchenyi Development Plan encourages the development of domestic science and innovation by tender support.

In a knowledge-based economy, innovation and creativity are nourished and protected by intellectual property, which is one of the guarantees of the return on R&D&I costs and innovation investments.

The Hungarian Intellectual Property Office, as a government office, is responsible for intellectual property protection. The President of the Office is a permanent invitee of the National Research and Technological Innovation Council.
